The boys will be playing in the park after they get out of school. (The verbs "will" and "be" are helping the verb "playing" do the action in the sentence. The verb shows what the boys will be doing later.
The might have been going to the story if they had enough money. (The verbs "might have been" are helping the main verb "going" create the action of the story to show what the boys might have done.
Be careful of adverbs, nouns/pronouns, or other parts of speech that can come between the helping verb and the main verb. The words that come between them are NOT verbs.
Ex. The girls were repeatedly shouting when they saw each other in the hallway. (The verb phrase "were shouting" is split with the word "repeatedly".)
Has Billy completed his work yet? (The word "Billy" is between the verb phrase "has completed".)
